It's been a while

These are not mine they are Made in Guatemala, this beautiful jewelry comprises Austrian crystals and Czech glass beads with an intricate mosaic design.  I hope to learn how to make them SOMEDAY soon!

I have been busy with my daughter and grandchildren.  They moved back up here from Texas!  My Jewelry has been but aside and I am longing to get back into designing.  Now that Christmas is over, I will be getting back into designing!  My newest passion is a new sort of jewelry, but has actually been around for ages Multi-color pendants intricately embellished mosaic inlay design, made with fine fire-polished Czech glass beads and the finest Swarovski crystals from Austria. The findings are brass that have been silver plated and then antiqued. I can wait to get started.  Keep watching. I'll be posting soon.

The word button is from the French word bouton, meaning bud or knob - buttons, as ornaments, date back several thousand years.
...until the introduction of the "button hole", buttons were generally ornamental.

Vintaj Natural Brass's - Filigree Wrapping

This one is not mine but I love love it! And I will make it someday soon!

I posted  the Vintaj  technique video and sample pictures where I learned the most is Vintaj Natural Brass's - Step by Step - Filigree Wrapping.  This video has been around for a while but it was the one video where I learned how to wrap using Vintaj filigree.  This is where I really got creative! I get more compliments on my wrapped filigree than any other pieces! At the end, there is a part that has a few other examples of filigree wrappings.  My favorite filigree  pieces are - Violet Petal, Openwork Flower (both sizes), Butterfly, Dragonfly, Diamond Swirl, Full Diamond Circle Filigree, Deco Vine & Clover Petal.

Make your own Moon sand!

I love playing with sand and clay.  Moon sand is so fun, squishable,  moldable and never dries out! Play sand also comes in different colors, so buy different colored bags to mix things up a little. Have fun!

  • 6 cups of play sand
  • ( 50 lb bag from Lowe's; it was $4.99 plus tax.)
  • 3 cups of cornstarch
  • (Most dollar stores carry it for $1 per box...
  • you'll need around 24 boxes for the whole 50 lbs!)
  • 1  1/2 cups of cold water
  • The life span is endless; store in airtight container!

Bourne Elements Design: My first blog

Bourne Elements Design: My first blog:  "This is the start of my morning.  I wanted to start this off with a Big Hello!  To share some ideas of what I have been meaning to do for a long long time.... After a year of wishing for a room to create and design my jewery and crafts, a place to work on my computer with out interruptions.   I finally have my own space, my own room.  And now I have painted my walls and in the process of setting up my work areas. I will, hopefully, learn how to post better and post pictures soon...very soon.

Simple City Craft Fairs

I remember going to craft fairs that were low cost ran b y the local City Parks and Recreations that charged around $30.00 and wanted you to come and share your goods.  Now days not only do they charge more than you might make, they have to screen your goods and judge your goods before you can even be approved to sell with them. I wish there were still  simple craft fairs that didn't cost so much. Maybe I have a new mission t add to my adventure.

My first blog

This morning I wanted to take a moment to share some news that means more to me than I can truly put into words. After a year of wishing planning and preparing.  I have finally been able to set up the start of my workroom.  Where I can be alone with out family and TV disruptions.  I've painted the walls and moved a few pieces of furniture in.  But have a great deal of sorting and setting up my workspace.  This is all new to me so my postings will be slow.  Thanks for reading I'll be back soon.
